Kieran Crichton BMus, MMus, Ph.D.

Fun, inspiration, and enjoyment are the key ingredients of lessons with me. I strongly encourage students to explore and improvise.

Every student has unique strengths and areas where growth can be encouraged. When you come for lessons with me I will tailor a program for your objectives and interests while providing regular challenges and opportunities for achievement and growth.

Whether you're just starting out, returning after a while away from the piano, or looking for a new teacher to help you scale new heights, get in touch and see how I can help inspire you to love the piano.

I have worked as a freelance musician and teacher since 1999. I’ve worked as an organist and choir conductor. I spent five years working with the Australian Youth Choir, where I taught up to 120 young singers each week.

I studied at the University of Melbourne, where I completed my BMus in 2002. My studies for this degree were organ, harpsichord, and musicology. My mentors in my undergraduate years were Christopher Cook and Elizabeth Anderson. I went on to complete musicology degrees at Australian Catholic University (MMus, 2005) and back at Melbourne University (Ph.D., 2009).

As a concert artist I have played recitals in prestigious venues including Melbourne Town Hall, Paramatta Cathedral (NSW), and St Michael's Uniting Church and St Paul's Cathedral, both in Melbourne.
